Talk Title:
Defending Modern Connected Vehicles
Abstract:
Modern vehicles are much more connected and capable than their older counterparts, requiring new approaches to keep customers safe. Andrew will discuss and overview modern connected vehicles, the problems they present, and how Rivian is solving those some of issues while preserving the customer experience and protecting for sustainability.
Bio:
Andrew Kongs works in security and embedded systems, with a focus on automotive cybersecurity. After working for several years in university research, Andrew transitioned to working on security in transportation. He has worked on heavy trucking security research with DARPA, helped improve the security of infotainment and telematics at Toyota, and now manages a cross-functional security team at electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian. His current focus areas are vehicle software security, manufacturing security, and test automation.
