Talk Title: Cross border Identification in Africa: Challenges and Opportunities

Abstract: The movement of people and goods across African borders is crucial for regional economic development and integration. However, a lack of harmonized identification systems creates barriers for both citizens and governments.

This talk will explore the current obstacles to seamless cross-border identification in Africa, including disparities in national ID programs and infrastructure limitations. It will then delve into the potential benefits of a more unified approach, such as increased trade, improved security, and wider access to financial services. By examining both the challenges and opportunities, this talk will analyze the frontier efforts aiming to establish a robust and inclusive system for identification across the continent.
