The IEEE’s Society on Social Implications of Technology (SSIT) is the organization’s premiere forum for research, events, and discussions around technology’s impact on society and our way of life. Its five major focus areas include sustainable development and humanitarian technology, ethics, human values and technology, technology benefits for all, future societal impact of technology advances, and protecting the planet and sustainable technology.
This event will bring together CyLab and SSIT members so that they can meet one another and discover opportunities for collaboration. The talk will begin with an overview of the SSIT Pittsburgh chapter, and what it has done across its two decades of existence, before moving on to present opportunities that CyLab and other CMU students can contribute to. The talk will be kept short to enable more time for questions, discussions, and networking.
