Isabel Madeleine Runge is a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. She is currently working on a project about cyber-physical security in the built environment and is supervised by Burcu Akinci and Mario Bergés. Her research interests focus on the detection of cyber-attacks on building automation systems, such as HVAC systems. Isabel is a member of both the Mosaic team (Management of Model-based Sensor-driven Advanced Infrastructure and Construction Systems) and the INFERLab team (Intelligent Infrastructure Research Lab) at CMU.

Before joining CMU, Isabel worked as a Research Fellow in the fields of large-scale Wireless Sensor Networks, Internet of Things, resilient wireless communication, and in particular in the area of Network Coding.
