Lena Pons is a machine learning research scientist at Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute. Pons is a computational linguist and data scientist working in cybersecurity research. Prior to her experience at SEI, Pons worked at the National Institutes of Health building prototype analytics for ontology curation, document classification, and knowledge discovery. Her work centers on building information extraction approaches for jargon-heavy language, particularly including ambiguous abbreviations and domain-specific usage.
