Abstract

Scope: To protect users from malicious cloud applications, we plan to investigate new isolation primitives that protect cloud applications in the event of a web application vulnerability or browser compromise.

Outcomes: We are implementing app isolation in the Chromium browser and verifying its security properties using finite-state model checking. We are also measuring the performance overhead of app isolation and conducting large-scale studies to evaluate its adoption complexity for various types of sites.
