Abstract

Scope: This project aims to develop efficient tools for modeling and analysis of thermal attacks in 2D and 3D many-core systems, impact of process variations (PVs) on the thermal peaks and thermal gradient emergencies in many-core systems, and prevention and response of thermal attacks due to PVs, while determining the cost incurred for ensuring a high level of yield and protection.

Outcomes: Analysis of PV-aware thermally induced threats. 2D vs. 3D susceptibility/resilience to variation aware thermal attacks. PV-aware prevention and protection against thermal attacks.
